POZNÁMKA 1 k heslu: Standardy NTCIP v USA označují vrstvu zařízení jako application layer (aplikační vrstva). Protože je však tento termín snadno zaměnitelný s aplikační vrstvou modelu OSI i aplikační entitou, je třeba se tomuto termínu vyhnout a při jeho použití je třeba jej upřesnit (např. aplikační vrstva modelu OSI).
